JAGUAR PAWPRINT PAINTING PARTY: On Saturday at 7:30 a.m. More than 200 volunteers are expected to turn out to paint the Jaguar PawPrints down the middle of Bay Street. The annual event, sponsored by the Downtown Council of the Chamber of Commerce has grown in popularity every year. It has become more of a party than a chore for the Council which began the tradition with the Jaguar's first season in 1995. Now Jaxon deVille, and The Roar cheerleaders are regular parts of the celebration. The event is scheduled to begin at 7:30 AM and the first paint should hit the pavement by 8:00. The teams of volunteers expect to have finished all 263 Paw Prints by 09:30. When the paint is dry, the painters will be thirsty so the party will continue at Mark's Downtown on Bay Street where Mimosas, Bloody Marys and other cold beverages will be available. If you would like to have your reporter participate and paint a PawPrint during the event, please contact party organizer. Bonnie Arnold at 346-3300 or 699-0961.
