JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- On Wednesday afternoon, Jerrica Duncan was found guilty of armed robbery with a firearm and discharge.

On January 5, 2011, Duncan, 26, robbed a Synovus Bank.

Duncan walked into the bank during the day, fired three shots in the air and demanded money, according to a news release from the State Attorney's Office.

Duncan fled the area with cash she received from the robbery.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office deputies located Duncan the next day.  She was arrested after a high speed chase, the release said. In her car they found the stolen money.

Duncan is also charged in at least three other armed robbery cases and one attempted armed robbery case.

She is accused of robbing another bank and a grocery store in 2010.  Both those cases are pending trial after Duncan is sentenced for the Synovus robbery.

Assistant State Attorney Alexis Sykes said, "This conviction is a large step in the right direction in bringing justice to the multiple citizens who have been victimized by Ms. Duncan."

Duncan is scheduled to be sentenced September 14, 2012. She faces a 20-year minimum mandatory prison sentence.
