JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is searching for the man who robbed the clerk at the Courtyard by Marriott near Monument Road and Interstate 295.

Police were called to a robbery reported at the hotel shortly before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, according to a news release from Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Shannon Hartley.

Hartley said a man walked up to the hotel and then robbed the clerk at gunpoint.

The suspect is described as a black male, 18-23 years of age, 5'6" -5'7", 135-145 pounds, short hair, with bandages on his face.
