JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office should try to sell a Cessna 172 the JSO doesn't use, The Florida Times-Union reported, citing the City Council Auditor's Office report issued Tuesday.

The T-U reports the Sheriff's Office attempted to auction the plane before.  However, citing a high minimum bid, there were no takers.  The department will again try to sell the plane, the T-U says, based on the audit report.

The T-U says the audit found the aviation unit for the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office used a "reasonable" amount of fuel according to the regularly scheduled audit.

The report also said the unit has agreed to do a better job of keeping track of the unit's fuel usage.

In response to the audit finding paperwork documenting trips was kept in various divisions throughout the department the aviation unit started keeping better documentation in house last month.
