JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The First Coast and the world watched tonight as London put on the opening ceremony.

Folks gathered at the Riverside YMCA's watch party to root for team USA.

Races and games got the kids in the spirit of friendly competition.

"I do gymnastics and I want to be just like them," said five-year-old Kyte Buttacavoli.

"Mine was always gymnastics," said Kyte's mom Kristen. "Like playing like I was in the Olympics and doing gymnastics while I was watching it."

Parents hope their Olympic excitement is passed on to their children.
