JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Wolfson Children's Hospital will collect toys as part of their "Christmas in July" toy drive Wednesday, July 25.
People wishing to donate toys may drop them off between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Helping to collect the toys will be children of former Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Mark Brunell and retired Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Tony Boselli. Also taking place in the toy collecting will be a volunteer army of holiday elves, a summertime Santa and Wolfie the hospital mascot.
Cars can pull up to the circular driveway at the front entrance of Wolfson Children's Hospital. People who donate a new, unwrapped toy will receive a candy cane to keep with the spirit of Christmas in July. This is the first year the children's hospital has hosted the event.
The toy drive is being held because the hospital's toy supply typically decreases during the summer since there is less emphasis on toy donations away from the holidays.
In addition to being able to drop off toys at the hospital Wednesday, you can also participate via their Virtual Toy Drive. The Virtual Toy Drive allows the community to make monetary donations toward the purchase of toys and art supplies for patients by Child Life Specialists with Wolfson Children's Hospital.
