JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A standoff with an armed suspect and the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office SWAT team has reached a peaceful resolution Monday morning.

Beaver Street was reopened shortly after 10 a.m. Monday.

According to Public Information Officer Shannon Hartley, police originally responded to a call of a domestic disturbance at 10 Wagon Road around 2:00 a.m.  The reported victim was able to get out of the home and about an hour later, told police the suspect had a gun.

Officers talked to the suspect, who told them he refused to leave the house, said Hartley.

Members of the SWAT team are brought in heavy equipment as they negotiated with the man holed up inside the home.
