JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police have defused what could have been a scary situation at a Northside gas station Friday evening.
Officers detonated a suspicious device they said they found in the parking lot of Pearl Express located at 3610 N. Pearl St.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office alerted the media just before 2 p.m. to the Bomb Squad callout.
According to Lt. Grant from JSO, a citizen reported finding the suspicious package there, prompting the police response.
Bibleway Childcare Center, next door to the gas station, announced that families could pick up their children in light of the events at the gas station.
