ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce is hosting an event called "Politics in St. Johns," where 30 candidates running for locally-based offices in the August 14 primary will be on hand to meet with the public.
The event will take place at Francis Field, 29 W. Castillo Drive, on Thursday beginning at 5:00 p.m. Admission is $10, which gives participants entry into the event and a chance to vote in a straw poll.
St. Johns County Supervisor of Elections Vicky Oakes will conduct the poll, according to Carol Saviak with the Chamber.
Saviak said about 400 people are registered to attend the event. Barbecue and beverages from four vendors will be available.
