JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Tammie Fields, a familiar face for local news viewers, has returned to Jacksonville on special assignment.
Fields, currently an anchor and reporter for Gannett's WTSP in Tampa, will be working for sister stations WTLV and WJXX during the Olympics.
"I still have great contacts in Jacksonville," Fields said. "Many of my current Facebook followers are Jacksonville area residents."
Fields is an award-winning journalist who graduated from the University of Oklahoma before working in Oklahoma, Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas and Florida.
You'll see see Tammie anchoring early evening newscasts and reporting over the next few weeks.
You'll also see market favorite Patty Crosby filling in on Good Morning Jacksonville. Crosby is filling in for anchor Joy Purdy who just gave birth to daughter Addison.
"I offered to babysit for Joy," Crosby said. " I guess I really am!"
