38-year-old, Brian Reynolds Peters of Jacksonville
ST. JOHNS, Fla. - A Duval County man is in custody and faces multiples charges in connection with a two-vehicle crash three months ago on County Road 210 in St. Johns County.
The suspect, 38-year-old Brian Reynolds Peters of Jacksonville, was arrested July 16 at his residence by the U.S. Marshal's Service with assistance from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
The St. Johns Sheriff's Office Traffic Homicide Unit launched an investigation on the afternoon of April 24 following a crash that occurred at the intersection of County Road 210 West and St. Johns Parkway.
According to police, Peters was driving his Chevrolet 3500 van westbound in the left lane of County Road 210 approaching St. Johns Parkway. Peters allegedly ran a red light and struck a 2010 Chrysler sedan with four occupants that was turning onto County Road 210 from St. Johns Parkway.
The driver and three passengers of Chrysler sustained injuries varying from life-threatening to minor. Peters was transported to Baptist South Hospital with signs of impairment and his blood alcohol content was allegedly 0.274, which is over three times the legal limit.
Peters is charged with three counts of DUI with serious injury, one count of DUI with injury, two counts of DUI with property damage, and one count each of DUI and possession of drugs and paraphernalia.
Peters was booked into the Duval County Jail with bonds totaling $36,500.
