Whitehouse Elementary School Principal shot by ex-husband has non-life-threatening injuries

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The victim who survived being shot by her ex-husband at Memorial Park on Thursday night is the principal of Whitehouse Elementary School.

Police arrived around 9:25 p.m. to find Marie Antoine lying on the ground, alert, having sustained several gunshot wounds at the hands of her ex-husband, according to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office police report.

Her ex-husband, suspect David Kite, was found several yards away lying on the ground with a single gunshot wound to the head. A revolver was found several feet away, the report stated.

Kite was pronounced dead at the scene. Antoine was taken to Shands Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the report stated.
