CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- A Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department water rescue team has been dispatched to Clay County to assist with rescue efforts.

The deployed team is made up of two boats, a jet ski, a swift water rescue trailer and six personnel, according to a news release from the City of Jacksonville.

The team will stage at the fire station in Middleburg. They are on hand to help with any victim rescues or evacuations due to Debby. The JFRD team is in place near Black Creek, which has experienced near record flood levels.
Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown contacted Clay County Manager Stephanie Kopelousos to express support and offer assistance in rescue efforts.
Mayor Brown said, "We are willing to offer assistance as needed to protect all area residents."
