BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. -- High-profile inmate Ronald L. Cummings has been removed from the custody of the Florida Department of Corrections.
Cummings, 28, is currently listed, as of June 24, as having been "arrested" in Brevard County, according to the Brevard County Sheriff's website. The Florida Department of Corrections lists Cummings, who has been in custody since October of 2010, as, "Out of department custody by court order."
Cummings is currently serving multiple sentences related to drug charges from January of 2010 and is not scheduled for release until August 10, 2024, according to the FDC website.
Cummings is scheduled to appear in court on July 2, 2012 at 4:30p.m. in Brevard County.
According to Debbie Holt, Records Manager for the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, "Usually, an order to transport is a court order requesting the defendant be transported from a correctional facility to the jail for an upcoming court matter. In this case, the defendant is from Liberty Correctional Institution."
Cummings is the father of Haleigh Cummings, who
went missing when she was five years old in February 2009.
