JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is looking for a dark green Honda Accord that investigators believe hit a pedestrian yesterday morning.
According to police, the crash happened around 6:30 Monday morning near the intersection of Atlantic Boulevard and Arlington Road.
As the car, eastbound on Atlantic, slowed and pulled into the center turn lane, the victim walked in front of the car, according to police.
The car stopped briefly, then drove away.
The victim is identified as 54-year-old Kevin Shawn McQuaid. McQuaid was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
McQuaid was also listed as a missing person, suffering from dementia and schizophrenia, according to police.
Evidence at the scene shows the suspect vehicle is a 1994-1997 Honda Accord, four door, model EX, dark green in color.
It should have a sun roof and seven spoke, alloy rims.
There should be damage to the right front area of the vehicle. The car is also missing its passenger-side mirror.
