JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown stopped by First Coast News to discuss his Tuesday business builder seminar, which will be focused on bringing business and jobs to Jacksonville and the Jaguars.
Called Mayor Brown's Business Builder, Brown told Phil Amato that the event will enable small business owners to learn how to better network and market their organizations, including learning social networking.
The event is focused on small business, which Brown refers to as the backbone of the community.
The seminar will bring entrepreneurs, both inexperienced and experienced, together in order to expand and grow entrepreneurship in Jacksonville, according to Brown.
The seminar will take place at 12 pm on February 7th at the Prime Osborn Convention Center. This is the first event in a series..
Staying on the topic of business, Brown was asked about his efforts to bring jobs to Jacksonville.
Brown said the key is to make sure we continue to build upon the strong foundation of exporting and JAXPORT.
At the end of February Jacksonville will host the U.S. Conference of Mayors. Brown said he plans to spend time discussing the importance of not only JAXPORT, but of all the ports in America.
The last question came via a viewer's Facebook post. Mayor Brown was asked if he was a Jaguars season ticket holder. While not answering directly, Brown said it was all the citizens of Jacksonville's team and stadium.
Brown said he looks forward to Shahid Khan's ownership of the team and the goals he has in store.

Brown discussed Khan and his mutual desire to make the Jaguars the most sought after ticket in the NFL and the teams efforts to build an international fan base for the team.
