JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police are looking for a suspect who invaded a home on the Northside, and handcuffed and bound a woman living there for two hours.
According to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office report, a suspect with a ski mask and black hat kicked in the rear door of a house on West 43rd Street. He had two guns, which the victim described them as semi-automatic and silver in color.
The report said the suspect handcuffed the victim behind her back, then bound her feet and made her sit in the sofa in the living room.
The victim told police the suspect was very excited and fidgety, and appeared to be under the influence of drugs.
He asked the victim where the money was, and he victim said he kept asking to tell him where "it" was. The suspect ransacked two rooms.
The victim said, according to the report, that she was tied up for two hours and that he was going to keep her tied up until her husband got off work at 6 p.m. But the victim told police he got frustrated when he could not find what he was looking for and fled out the rear door.
The 47-year old victim said she was able to free herself and go to a neighbor's house to call police. Her phone was apparently disabled by the suspect.
The report said the suspect tried to flee in a nearby vehicle, which had been involved in a carjacking, but it would not start. Police searched the area with a helicopter, patrol units but the suspect eluded capture.
