JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The man killed while walking on the Westside was about three miles from home.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, 32-year-old Gregory A. Franks was walking south on Blanding Boulevard shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday.
A vehicle heading south at the same time struck Franks, whose listed address is on Lourdes Drive, also on the Westside.
Franks was pronounced dead at the scene.
JSO spokesman Dewayne Richardson said the investigation is ongoing, and there is no word yet on any possible charges against the driver.
