Armed robber sentenced to life over $96

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A 30-year-old Jacksonville man was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison for armed robbery.

The State Attorney's Office says surveillance video showed Anthony Ray Christopher entered a Kangaroo gas station on Old Middleburg Road in July 2010. He walked around, pulled out a pistol, took the victim's smart phone, demanded the $96 in the cash register and fled.

Christopher was caught when he listed the stolen phone for sale on Craigslist. The purchaser found out the phone was stolen and contacted the victim. Investigators tracked down the defendant through the information listed on the Craigslist posting.

Christopher has a prior conviction for robbery in Camden County, Georgia.
