Appallingly foul: Duck killed and allegedly stuffed into car

Steven Dial reports. 9/6/2016

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—Surveillance video reveals a disturbing scene of multiple suspects killing a duck and allegedly placing it in the backseat of a car.

People in one Southside neighborhood say individuals have recently been going car to car trying to steal items.

Last week, a family got a grim discovery: a dead duck in the back seat and they believe it’s the same thieves that did it.

"He was disgusted, it was disturbing,” says Kaylie Cline.

Residents in this Southside neighborhood say its common to see ducks.

But for Kaylie Cline's boyfriend he saw a duck in his backseat, dead, with its neck slit.

"There was blood of course and you can see where they cut the duck and killed it and propped it between my children's car seat."

Cline says this happened last Thursday morning when her boyfriend was driving to work.

Multiple people in the community have surveillance video.

They believe the three individuals in the video are the ones who committed the crime.

"It seems almost meditated," she says. "The fact that they even propped the ducks head up and made it upright between my kids car seats."

Cline says recently they have had a string of car break-ins.

"There has been multiple times where my neighbor with the surveillance system, has seen people coming and car hoping and trying to get in vehicles and we were the unfortunate ones who left our car unlocked Thursday morning," Cline says.

She says her neighbors are not scared and they will stand up to these criminals.

"This can be a great community still but not if we don't take a stand and act on it."
