Alleged rapist captured in Lake City

LAKE CITY, Fla. -- A man who allegedly raped a female neighbor was caught by police Sunday morning.

According to the Lake City Police Department, a woman told police that Ralph Brown Willis broke into her home on St. Johns Street and raped her.

The alleged assault took place just before 5 a.m. Sunday morning.

Afterwards, he kept her from calling 911 to report it, according to LCPD. When police arrived at the home, the victim told police the man ran inside a home nearby. He was found hiding inside his daughter's home and was arrested.

Willis was arrested, transported and booked into the Columbia County Detention Center on a $171,000 bond.

Willis, 49, is charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, sexual assault, burglary, trespassing and obstructing justice.
