Ability Housing gets $7M grant

JACKSONVILLE. Fla. --- Ability Housing was awarded $7.3 million in state grants. Now, Executive Director Shannon Nazworth says two more complexes will be built to help get people off the streets.

"This is a big deal," Nazworth said.

One complex, with 12 units, will be built in Springfield. The other will have more than 40 units, and be on the Westside, off Lane Avenue. It will be the first complex of it's type on the westside.

"We know the westside has a lot of need, we know there's a lot of people who are in crisis," said Nazworth.

Nazworth says she hopes to break ground on the Westside complex in May, and have people moving in in about a year.

"They will have a stable place to live and support services they need," she said.
