1 dead, 1 injured in Southside shooting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal shooting that happened on the Southside Thursday evening.

JSO officers responded to the 3000 block of Mandell Drive in reference to a person that had been shot.

According to Sgt. Steve Zona, officers arrived to the scene and found two male victims.

During the investigation two blocks of South Barnes Road and two blocks south of Mandell Dr. were closed for several hours.

The unknown victims were transported to UF Health, where one victim, identified on Friday afternoon as 19-year-old Sean Anthony Williams, died. The condition of the second victim is unknown.

There are no suspects at this time, said Zona.
