Local youth soccer coach arrested on molestation charges

TACOMA, WA, -- Sean Douglas Stern, 35, was arrested on two charges of lewd and lascivious molestation as an authority figure of a school in Washington state.

On October 19, the Flagler County Sheriff's Office put out a nationwide warrant for his arrest. In the warrant he is accused of molesting two boys, between the ages of 12 and 16, on multiple occasions within Flagler County between January 2015 and April 2016.

Stern left Flagler County in April and moved to Seattle. However, he had coached youth programs with the Jacksonville Armada's under 19 team, the Player Development Academy, a soccer club in Palm Coast, and at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach.

According to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office, he may have worked for or been affiliated with Matanzas High School, FC United, West Ham International Academy and Pure FC as well. Stern has ties to soccer organizations throughout Florida, Texas and North Carolina.

Authorities urge parents who have children who were in soccer programs with Stern to talk with their kids to find out whether they have been victimized or whether they have vital information about the former coach.

All information about Stern should be provided to FCSO Detective Fuentes at 386-586-4890.  You may also remain anonymous and call Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida at 888-277-8477
