Local boy beats cancer, watches Jags in style

Cancer survivor sits in Shad Khan suite

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Despite the Jaguars Sunday loss,  they will always be a winner with one of their biggest fans.

“I saw them play and I have never seen them play before, this was my first time,” said Kane Hoffer.

He is full of energy like your typical five-year-old, but Kane probably one of the toughest kids you’ll meet. Last December Kane was diagnosed with a rare form of Kidney Cancer.

“I wouldn’t put that on any kid. He did really well, the whole time he handled treatment he had a smile on his face,” said Kane’s mom Sarah.

Two months ago Kane beat it.  His mom Sarah it was one of the best moments of her life and an early birthday gift for Kane.

“It was scary and exciting at the same time because once you stop the chemo you don’t have that back cushion anymore. He actually just got his port taken out three weeks ago so that was a victory in itself," said Sarah.

Now that’s he’s back in good health, his favorite team invited him to watch the game from the Owners Suite.

“We were playing Spiderman, we had a blast,” said Kane.

The hardest part for mom? “He expects every game to be like this and I’m like no,” she said.

Sarah said Kane and their family will forever grateful to the Jags organization.

“It was pretty awesome, I have never experienced anything like that, neither has he or the family so we felt very spoiled.”
