Jacksonville man receives life sentence in child sex case

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man convicted of two counts of sexual battery and one count of lewd or lascivious molestation against a minor has been sentenced to mandatory life in prison.

In August of 2014 authorities learned that James Gallagher, 52, of Jacksonville, sexually abused a child who was just six at the time. The victim is now 13. Gallagher was just convicted of these charges last month.
