PONTE VEDRA, Fla. -- Big changes are coming to the 26.2 With Donna.
First Coast News own Donna Deegan, founder of the National Marathon to Finish Breast Cancer, announced plans Saturday to move the official start line for next year's race.
In 2013, the marathon will kick off from ATP Tour Boulevard in Ponte Vedra Beach. For the past 5 years runners have gathered in front of the Mayo Clinic on San Pablo Road.
The race will still finish at the Mayo Clinic.
"To finish breast cancer, we must continue to grow and raise more funds to support the important work at Mayo Clinic and The Donna Foundation. Our vision for 2013 and beyond requires us to review our strategy for growth," said Donna. "This can be accomplished with the move of the race start. We truly appreciate the PGA TOUR for the use of their parking venues. Partnerships like these are so important to achieve our mission."
