Glynn County man's death found to be flu-related

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. -- A man's death is found to be flu-related, the Coastal Health District announced on Friday.

His death is the third death in the Coastal Health District, with two others taking place in Chatham County, according to a release from Coastal Health District Public Information Officer Sally Silbermann.

There have been 50 total of flu-related deaths in Georgia as of Feb. 15, Silbermann said.

Flu symptoms include fatigue, chills, headache, body aches, cough, fever and runny or stuffy nose.

The Coastal Health District shared these precautions from the Centers for Disease Control for preventing the spread of the flu:

-Cover your cough (try to cough into the crook of your elbow, not your hand).
-Wash your hands frequently with soap and water. If soap and water is not available use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
-Clean common surfaces like countertops and desks.
-Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth because germs spread this way.
-Stay home and away from others when you're sick.
