Don't forget to do Buddy Check 12!

Jeannie Blaylock wants to know: Did you call your Buddy? The 12th of the month it's time for the Buddy Check 12.

Blaylock, in collaboration with the Women's Care physicians at Baptist Health, created the Buddy Check 12 self-exam program more than 20 years ago to promote breast cancer prevention and awareness on the First Coast.

Regular breast exams and screenings are important aspects of a woman's care. Buddy Check 12 is a self-exam program that works like this:

1. Get a Buddy!

2. Call (904) 202-CARE to get your FREE Buddy Check 12 kit with step-by-step instructions for breast self exam and self awareness.

3. Do your breast self-exam on the 7th and 10th day of your menstrual cycle.

4. Remind your buddy to perform her exam and ask "Did you do it?"

5. If you find a lump, call your physician or Baptist Health Women's Care at (904) 202-2222.
