Doctors pay tribute to boy who donated organs

An amazing and emotional photograph shows doctors paying tribute to a boy whose sacrifice saved the lives of others.

11-year-old Liang Yaoyi of Shenzhen, China, had been diagnosed with brain cancer. Before passing away on June 6, The Huffington Post reports Liang told his mother he wanted to donate his organs.

"They are great, and I want to be a great kid, too," he said, according to China Daily.

After his death, doctors successfully transplanted Liang's kidneys and liver into other patients. But before doing so, the medical team lined up beside the young boy's body and bowed in respect, as his mother cried nearby.

A photograph of that moment has gone viral, touching thousands of people on Liang's bravery and of the importance of organ donation.
