JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Biscayne Elementary School will participate in the Just A Minute (JAM) World Record 2012 on Thursday, September 27.
The JAM World Record 2012 is the country's first national movement led by students to get everyone moving as part of Let's Move in School, according to a news release from Duval Public Schools spokesperson Jill Johnson.
But the Biscayne Knights are not limiting themselves to just one minute of activity.
Instead, the students will use Beyonce's "Move Your Body," First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move theme song, to perform a dance on the playground. The students are using the dance to show their support physical activity and to also help Florida win the National JAM Title, Johnson said.
The campaign, Johnson said, is dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of making activity a daily habit. The campaign hopes to ensure kids learn healthy habits at a young age and also to make certain children have access to quality physical education programs.
The event will take place Thursday, September 27 at 10 a.m.
