ATLANTA, GA -- Today, tuesday January 15th, would have been Martin Luther King Junior's 79th birthday.
Dr. King was born on January 15, 1929 at his family's home in Atlanta.
King went on to lead the civil rights movement in this country... And is the youngest man honored with the nobel peace prize.
Dr. King was assassinated on april 4, 1968 in Memphis.
His birthday is celebrated as a federal and state holiday on the third monday of January.
