ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. -- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation will be leading the investigation into the death of Glynn County Commissioner Tom Sublett, who was found dead Tuesday morning.

Mike McDaniel, a GBI special agent in charge of the Kingsland office, said there is nothing new to report in the homicide investigation.

The GBI began an autopsy on Sublett on Wednesday, which is still not complete, to determine that cause of death.

McDaniel said the lab has more tests must be complete before the GBI will release any results.

They're not at liberty right now to release any information on the autopsy, McDaniel said.

Investigators are still working on the search in the river, said McDaniel. Georgia State Patrol divers were still working as of Thursday afternoon.

A funeral service for Sublett has been scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Brunswick. To share your memories of Sublett with the family, click here.
