PERRY, Ga. -- Leaders in Perry may soon narrow their candidates for police chief.
Mayor Jimmy Faircloth tells The Telegraph of Macon that he will ask the city's council to pick two finalists during a meeting Thursday night.
City leaders have interviews six candidates for the position, including two captains currently on Perry's police force.
Faircloth said he expects council members will holding a closed meeting to ask any remaining questions they have of the candidates. If the council is ready to vote on two finalists, it would do so in a public meeting.
The job opened in June when Public Safety Director George Potter retired.
