GLYNN COUNTY, Fla. -- A jury convicted a 34-year-old man on charges relating to child molestation November 9. He is scheduled to be sentenced November 15.
Following his conviction last week, Brunswick resident John Schoolcraft faces a minimum sentence of 25 years in prison. Superior Court Judge Roger Lane presided over Schoolcraft's trial and will sentence him Thursday.
A jury convicted Schoolcraft on two charges of child molestation, two charges of statutory rape, two charges of aggravated child molestation and two charges of sexual battery against a child under 16 years of age, according to a news release from District Attorney Jackie Johnson's office.
The release said the charges against Schoolcraft stem from the sexual assault of a 13-year-old child.
