GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- Authorities say a Cumming man faces multiple charges in a boating collision at Lake Lanier that killed one person and seriously injured another.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources announced Monday that 32-year-old Steven Brent Parker has been charged with homicide by vessel, serious injury by vessel, BUI and reckless operation of a vessel.

Parker could not immediately be reached for comment.

The DNR says Parker was driving a ski boat that collided with a pontoon boat before midnight on April 21.

Stephen Blake Jones of Duluth was driving the pontoon, and Sharon Ezell of Milledgeville was his passenger. Rescuers found Jones' body in the water. Ezell was found on board the pontoon boat hours later and was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
