DECATUR, Ga. -- A man is in critical condition after he was shot by police responding to a domestic dispute at a DeKalb County apartment complex.
DeKalb County Police Department spokeswoman Mekka Parish says the man has not died, as was earlier reported. Parish says the shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. Thursday after officers said the man pointed a gun at them in the apartment.
The man's identity has not been released. Parish says the man was shot multiple times and remains in critical condition at an area hospital.
The officer, who has not been identified, has been placed on routine administrative leave pending an investigation.
