VILLA RICA, Ga. -- Authorities say two men in an assisted living facility were killed by a fire that engulfed two buildings in west Georgia.

The Times-Georgian reports that the blaze began around 6 p.m. in one building, killing both men. Authorities say the men, whose names weren't immediately released, were in their 50s.

Fire officials tell WSB-TV that the blaze then spread to a second building, burning about 40 percent of it.

Villa Rica Police Chief Michael Mansour says authorities believe the fire was accidental. Carroll County Fire Chief Tracy Smith said investigators were working to determine the cause.

Authorities say only one other person was in the first home with the men. That woman, who is believed to be a caretaker or employee, was not injured. No one was in the second house.
