CALLAWAY, FL (AP) -- Authorities say a man was arrested after he asked bank employees for money to repay a crack-cocaine debt. The Bay County Sheriff's Office reported yesterday that Charles Anthony Miller had been on a crack-cocaine binge since about noon Wednesday.
When deputies arrived at the Regions Bank, Miller told them that he needed 500 dollars to pay off a crack-cocaine debt. Miller also told the deputies that one of the men who had kidnapped him was sitting in the bank lobby.
Deputies took Marvin Williams into custody and reported that they found marijuana on him. Miller then told deputies that two other men were waiting outside in a green Camaro. Deputies reported that the driver, Devonte Levoris Pace, ran away when they tried to talk to him. Deputies found illegal narcotics while searching the Camaro.
Miller was charged with filing a false police report. Williams was charged with possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana. Warrants were issued for Pace on several charges.
