COCONUT CREEK, FL -- Coconut Creek police are warning women on college campuses in the city to be alert for a possible stalker.
Police said the man is extremely violent. He has attacked two women, police said, and one of the attacks was caught on tape.
The first attack happened on Nov. 8 at the Atlantic Technical Center.
"He was hiding in between the men's room and the ladies' room," said Judy Banks of the Coconut Creek Police Department. "Female walks down the corridor, passes the bathroom. He comes out from behind. In the surveillance video you can see him grab her from behind and pull her into the bathroom."
Police said the man robbed the woman. Her car has been missing since the attack and police believe the man may have stolen it.
Police also said they believe the same man struck again Tuesday morning on the campus of Broward Community College. This time, the man tried to sexually assault the woman, they said.
"He's dangerous," Banks said. "The common denominator in both these cases was the description of the suspect."
Banks said the man is described as either white or Hispanic, 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 9 inches tall, between 180 and 190 pounds, with a stocky build.
"Pay attention to your surroundings. Look around. Don't be alone," Banks said. "To say that it only happens at night -- today at 9 o'clock in the morning is proof positive that it doesn't always happen at night."
Police said the man might be driving the first victim's car, a 2001 black four-door Mazda Millennia with license plate No. J0Z-TGA.
Anyone with information on the man should call Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
