SHARPES, Fla. (AP) -- Brevard County authorities say an anonymous call led them to a trailer where they found more than 60 animals.
A spokesman for the Sheriff's Office says nine of the animals were dead. They included dogs, cats, turtles, ferrets and guinea pigs.
Authorities believe the animals hadn't been fed since the home's owner, 75-year-old Wade Fuller, was hospitalized last week.
Animal control officials say the surviving animals were dehydrated and malnourished.
Charges are pending.
Some of the rescued dogs have been placed in adoption centers.
