ORLANDO, FL -- An off-duty corrections officer for the Department of Juvenile Justice has been charged with attacking a costumed Scooby Doo character for no apparent reason at Universal Studios theme park in Orlando last Friday.
There was no apparent reason for the beating - witnesses said that when the Scooby Doo character bent down to take a picture with Eddie Bronson's child at the theme park Friday, Bronson allegedly grabbed the front of his costume and pulled him down.
The police report says that the character began to shake his head and his arms to get away from Bronson's grip.
Police said that when the character walked away to greet other guests, the incident escalated, police said.
Universal officials told police there was some damage to the costume and the character suffered a headache.
Bronson alleges that he was trying to pet the character on top of the head after the photo was taken. Bronson bonded out of jail.
