ALTOONA, FL (AP) -- Investigators are starting their search for local victims of a convicted sex offender who is back behind bars.
Investigators are going through Joe Burton's home computer, trying to find out whether there are any local victims or other offenders who Burton sent the child porn to. They say he had a lot of it.
By day, the 41-year-old Burton is a short-order cook. At night, investigators say he does a lot of chat rooms, surfing for young boys to send him pictures of themselves in sexually explicit situations.
Burton admits he saved thousands of them.
Lake County Sheriff's spokesman Lieutenant Todd Luce says they have not found any local victims yet.
Burton had spend a year in jail and four years probation for the same conviction. Luce said Burton's repeat offense proves this is a "definite illness."
Burton is being held at the Lake County jail on a half-million dollars bond.
