TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Governor Rick Scott unveiled the design for the Teacher Supply Debit Card Wednesday.
Governor Scott said, "The Teacher Supply Debit card will help teachers buy supplies for their classroom without dipping into their own pockets. The school districts that choose to use these new debit cards will also help teachers shop tax free throughout the year because the debit card contains a tax free state I.D. number for teachers.
"I'm proud that our Florida Families First Budget included $480 million in teacher pay raises and an average of $250 for teachers to purchase supplies for their classrooms. The hard work of our legislative leaders and education professionals at the local level and all across our state made it possible for us to deliver great wins in our fight for Florida teachers."
