JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Fla. Gov. Rick Scott announced Tuesday that he plans to double the investment in the Quick Response training program to $12 million.

This program makes the state more competitive for businesses
looking to expand in Florida, businesses like Bi-Lo that recently merged with Winn-Dixie. 

"The way it works is that we can help train employees and taxpayers get a return on that investment and then it's a win-win for everybody," Scott said.

While he was in town, Scott celebrated the merger of Bi-Lo and Winn-Dixie, which created the country's 9th largest grocery store chain.
    
He said by having Bi-Lo move it's headquarters to Jacksonville from South Carolina, 100 new jobs were brought to the state, and 900 jobs were saved.
