NAPLES, Fla. --  The remains of a panther struck and killed on a Collier Count road will be taken to a research lab for a complete necropsy.

Wildlife officials say the 4-month-old panther was killed early Sunday morning. This marks the 19th panther death of the year.

The News-Press reports the carcass will be taken to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Wildlife Research Lab in Gainesville. The remains will be archived at the Florida Museum of Natural History.
