ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- A U.S. Coast Guard crew rescued an injured loggerhead turtle found floating near the mouth of Tampa Bay.

Coast Guard officials say the turtle was likely injured in the wake of Tropical Storm Debby. They pulled it aboard their boat Wednesday afternoon and nicknamed him Larry the Loggerhead.

The Tampa Bay Times reports the turtle was taken to the Florida Aquarium in Tampa for treatment. The turtle's condition was not available early Thursday.

Coast Guard spokesman Michael De Nyse says the turtle was lethargic and unable to dive.
