JUNO BEACH, Fla. -- Authorities say a 6-year-old boy was bitten by a shark near the Juno Pier in Juno Beach.
    
West Palm Beach television station WPTV reports the incident happened about 7 p.m. Tuesday.
    
Jupiter police told WPTV the child was bitten in the upper thigh.
    
Authorities say the boy was taken by helicopter to St. Mary's Medical Center. His condition was not known.
    
No further details were immediately available.
    
Juno Beach is in Palm Beach County.
