SARASOTA, Fla. -- No charges will be filed against a Sarasota sheriff's captain accused of molesting an underage girl two decades ago.
A Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigation couldn't find probable cause that Capt. Ronald Locke had an inappropriate relationship with a minor. The report said the alleged victim refused to discuss it with investigators.
Locke, now 45, admitted to the FDLE that he had sex with the girl when he was a 25-year-old deputy. But he said the girl said she was 18 at the time.
The report says the girl's mother told investigators that Locke got her daughter pregnant and paid her $250 to get an abortion.
Sheriff Tom Knight tells the Herald-Tribune in Sarasota that there will be no internal affairs investigation unless the woman cooperates.
