A group of Jacksonville firefighters out collecting money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association ended up saving a life Friday afternoon.
Near the intersection of Beach Boulevard and St. Johns Bluff the team was out collecting money when a person drove up asking for medical assistance. The person thought they may be going through cardiac arrest.
Firefighters immediately jumped into action and performed CPR.
"The situation that we were in - we're not expecting something like that to happen," explains firefighter Eric Willetts. "But our training kicked in pretty well and we were able to get her out of the car and gave her the care she needed."
The woman was rushed to the hospital - no word on her condition at this time.
